Last year, an artist introduced himself to me: Richard Vaux. He was armed with a binder of photos of his recent paintings that I examined and responded very well to. “How is it we’ve never crossed paths?” I had to ask. “I’ve recently moved to Ohio –Hudson –from New York City,” he replied.
A studio visit confirmed my first response to his art: it is robust, yet diaphanous painting of the landscape. I also became aware of a relationship it had to George Kozmon’s art, and I made a point of introducing these two painters to one another. Out of that introduction has come “Summits & Light.” I invited each artist to curate a joint show of their work from the other’s body of art, and enjoyed watching the exhibition unfold through their eyes and selections.
Don’t miss this introduction of Richard Vaux into the Cleveland art scene, along with a rare opportunity to see all of George Kozmon’s recent paintings and drawings. Together, these gentlemen have found Cinergy between them. We’re all very excited with this show, and look forward to learning of YOUR responses. Come by the gallery soon! - Bill Tregoning
