"A Pocket Full of Change includes the work of old school, second and third wave Cleveland graffiti writers Shrug, The Sign Guy, Dale Caruso, Prae, Poke, Verb and Lost. Like the writers themselves, their inclusion in this picture book marks territory. This is Cleveland." -Michael Gill.

Michael Gill's new wood block and letterpress book, on exhibit at Tregoning and Company through Christmas, is the most recent of several he made by hand with wood blocks, letterpress, and other relief printing techniques.
Overtly, they are about the stories they tell--about experience shared across generations, about the place that surrounds us, and the things we value. But on another level, the investment of labor is a defining quality of these books; it took the artist thousands upon thousands of hand-pulls to meticulously create the colorful woodblock prints, not to mention the time it took to carefully place the movable type.
