"I choose to paint skyscapes, landscapes and seascapes in oil using mostly tonal shades of color. I feel that keeping my palette uncomplicated helps me concentrate on the subtle blending and brushwork to help me create mood and movement. My work tends to swing like a pendulum. From nothingness to realism, from ambiguous, atmospheric sky and seascapes to literal landscapes of somewhere, which could be anywhere and back again. They defy specific geographical reference and while often inspired by places, they transcend time and space to become much more about personal experience. Characterized with subtle shifts of light and space, I try to envelope my viewer with their romantic melancholy"~ J. Allom Hall
