GEORGE KOCAR

Cracked Ice

Social/political satire has always part of my oeuvre. Many of these paintings feature a pepper nosed clown/everyman, as in “Cracked Ice,” a wild statement about Global warming. Swigging a beer, wearing a big oil logo filled jacket, he cluelessly watches a car race on his television while nature is crashing down all around him.

Quacked Society

Gun violence, and the need for gun control has become a heated national debate. “Quacked Society” is a commentary on this debate. A gun toting duck walks in front of a graffiti filled building. He is surrounded by numerous unseen characters pointing guns at him. Who is the hunter or who is the target? Does having a gun make you feel any safer?
